GO IS AMAZING!

Here's how it will benefit your child's mind

COLUMBUS GO TEACHERS

Teachers

DEVIN FRAZE

is a passionate Go player and educator who first learned the game in 2011. Since then he has bicycled across the US learning Go and competitively playing. Devin has also traveled to China, Korea, Ecuador, and Costa Rica to play Go.

Since 2015, Devin has served as the Director of Youth Events at the National Go Congress. In 2018 Devin founded the Ohio Go Association (OGA) to foster collaboration among clubs. On the local level, Devin is the lead Organizer of the Columbus Go Club and he hosts club gatherings, classes, and tournaments.

With a background in Math Education, Devin found that Go was an incredible tool for teaching critical thinking, problem solving, and many character-building life lessons.

FEIFAN "TOM" JIA

is the strongest Go player in all of Ohio and he will represent Columbus as the lead player on our Go Club’s national competition team. He is a University student at The Ohio State University studying biomechanical engineering. Thanks to a scholarship he received from his University in China he was able to come to the US. He continues to support his home club and is a well beloved player in both China and the US.

Tom is a new teacher at the Columbus Chinese Academy (CCA) and he privately tutors Go to both children and adults. In his youth, Feifan spent many years training with professional teachers at his local Dojang (Go School). Due to this reason, he is uniquely qualified to pass along the tradition and the time tested ways of teaching Go.
